Playing at the ocean - Kailua Beach
My friends and I play Hawaii … mostly …
In addition to regular performances for years at Sam Choy’s Diamond Head Restaurant, the subsequent Outrigger’s music lounge at the same location, and cruise ship appearances and an appearance with other Hawaiian musicians, singers and dancers for the opening of the Kansei Airport near Osaka, Japan, below are some notes of other performances.
Perhaps myself, my friends, and dancers may have a chance to perform for you soon. Or, maybe you’ve seen me and the boys at Hank’s in Honolulu!
“Time’s relentlessness has no effect on Hanks Cafe. It ain’t called Hawaii’s Cheers for nuthin’ – if everyone doesn’t already know your name, they’ll ask. I met four new friends as I squeezed past the band and the barstools. Regularly packed, it’s it’s own live theatre.”

Holy Nativity Gala Visits Oz
“Holy Nativity School knows “there’s no place like home,” so it’s adopted that as a theme for its annual Pa’ina, set for 5:30 to 10 p.m. March 4 at the school. A cast of Wizard of Oz characters also will attend, and guests can enjoy a soul food menu from award-winning chef Sean Priester, appetizers from area eateries and music from Kimo Todd and Friends throughout the evening.”
“Tickets cost $150, and checks should be made out to Holy Nativity PTO. Admission includes the buffet dinner in “the Emerald City,” two drinks and an auction bid.”

Conservation Council for Hawai‘i
“Plenty ono food, new and old friends, sweet Hawaiian music,
and refreshments – essential elements of any good local pä‘ina –
would have made the evening memorable enough. But the addition of dozens of enticing silent auction items and the shared mana‘o of one of Hawai‘i’s most respected cultural practitioners – all in celebration of deeds well done – ensured that the 2007 CCH annual awards and membership meeting was both fun and fruitful.”“More than a hundred convivial members, friends, and supporters
gathered at Weaver Hall on the grounds of Honolulu’s Church of the Crossroads October 6 to honor this year’s conservation awardees while enjoying a high spirited event highlighted by the appearance of Manu Boyd, kumu hula, composer, chanter, cultural specialist, and leader of the venerable Hawaiian quartet, Ho‘okena.”“The nahenahe melodies wafting from Kimo Todd’s guitar provided the perfect welcoming backdrop for mingling, reacquainting, and browsing the wide variety of auction items ranging from native plants to art work to fine dining opportunities.”

“The annual (2006) meeting was a great success. CCH members and supporters enjoyed an evening of fellowship, ‘ono (delicious) Moroccan cuisine prepared by culinary artisan Karen Miyano, nahenahe (sweet) Hawaiian music by Kimo Todd, and fun door prizes. And the plant sale and silent auction, featuring an impressive array of environmentally friendly natural and cultural
bid items, raised funds for Hawaiian wildlife.”- by Julie Leialoha, Fall, 2006
